A notary public is a person who can serve as an impartial and official witness to the execution/signing of various documents and assist with administering oaths, affirmations and declarations. In taking steps to ascertain the identity of the notary client, a notary public can provide assurance to any other person or authority that a particular individual did indeed sign the document in question.

At Chan Law, we can provide a wide variety of notary services to our clients, including the witnessing and notarizing of documents such as affidavits, declarations, travel consent letters, letters of invitation, criminal background check forms, and certifying that a photocopy is a true copy of the original document.

When you attend with Doug Chan, our duly appointed Notary Public, you should bring two pieces of identification with you. One piece of identification should have a photo on it, such as a driver’s licence, while the other piece of identification doesn’t necessarily require a photo but should have your name on it, and may include a credit card, SIN card, birth certificate or passport, but not a health card. As well, it is important to remember that you should not sign the document in question until you are physically meeting with the notary.

Please contact our office to set up an appointment. In many cases, we are able to accommodate same day appointments.
