About Douglas Chan
One of the driving forces that led Doug to become a lawyer was the inherent desire to help people with their needs and issues and to be an efficient and dependable problem-solver. To that end, Doug brings a combination of key attributes to every legal matter, including a vigorous work ethic, a continual desire to learn, a sense of compassion and understanding, an attention to detail, and a willingness to connect with clients.
A native of Waterloo, Ontario, Doug graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a focused specialty in Legal Studies. After obtaining his law degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Doug articled and worked at two well-known civil litigation firms in Northern Ontario and was subsequently called to the Ontario Bar in 2010. Doug returned to the Kitchener-Waterloo area to raise his family and continue his legal career in the fields of real estate, family law, wills & estates, and corporate/commercial law.
